Just got a call from Yerevan. Shooting was done by a particular battalion from Karabagh — the Shushi battalion. This battalion, run by Vatcho and his clan, are about taking and keeping power so they can live comfortably. These are not nice guys, not particularly educated nor sophisticated. They shot into a crowd of people without warning. They also shot out store windows and set fire to vehicles.

From looking at the photos, published on this site, it appears that the ‘protesters/rioters’ depending uopn your personal view point, have undertaken looting of shops, the damage of Ambulances and damage to personal property. To the objective observer, these are the actions of thugs and thieves not law abiding voters.

artsagh girl: your information is wrong. Shooting was FROM the crowd toward the police. 8 dead is a very small number if an army shoots towards the crowd. They are poor shooters if they only got 8. Windows were smashed and cars burned by the crowd of looters after police retreated, and not before.

And whoever bunt the car with the red cross on it: shame!

I’m from a small freedom-loving country in the middle of Europe… We talked with an armenian family who lives exactly in the place where the riots were. She and someone else said, that the people who crashed the shops were not the people who were for 10 days before at the demonstrations. This were just bandits, people who use the chance to steal and came out only at this night. We also talked with two people who were participating at the demonstrations and they said they saw, how army killed a teenagerboy, was beating pregnant women and shoot directly a man straight to death. Someone saw how the army was shooting people in the night and throwing the dead bodies on cars to drive them away. Blooded teenagers were lying in their blood on the ground. The army didnt gave the demonstrators in the morning a chance to leave their tents. The demonstrators were peaceful all the days, why they should suddenly change it in the morning? No - Armenia became a army-ruled, faschistic dictatorship. There will be people in Europe who will try to help to you against this evil, because they know in which kind of hell it is leading to. And Armenia will end its too strong nationalism and realize that Armenians are just humans like all others. But I have biggest respect and love for the people who prooved in their peaceful demonstrations their faith and power. Bless you! And never forget the victims who died for freedom.

Video evidence of shooting towards protesters by Armenia special police units

Today Armenian opposition distributed a video evidence (below) confirming their previous claims, as well as some eyewitnesses, that special police units shot towards protesters during 1 March events, in contrary to official information on shooting in the air only or no shooting at all.
