Interview with Saakashvili

November 27th, 2007 by jibs

Interview with Saakashvili with a former Imedi TV journalist Inga Grigolia (in Georgian). This is a recorded interview (not live). It appears, the questions were not answered fully (be happy that they were at all).

*highlight — Inga asked Saakashvili about Sandro Girgvliani case — his reply was something along the lines of positive attitude towards the police in the society. He recalled seeing from his car how citizens offered the policemen flowers. Looks like he is in no hurry to leave anywhere. Enjoy!

WHAT RUSSIANS?!

November 7th, 2007 by jibs

Just listened to President Saakashvili’s speech on the latest developments in Georgia, involving the forceful dispersal of the opposition demonstration.

Again he mentioned the 14% economic growth. He said a few dozen art.georgia.jpgdemonstrators were dispersed after blocking the main road, ALTHOUGH, 350 injured were admitted to the hospital.

He said he is very well aware about the social problems, BUT, he said he would not back down. He put the blame on Russia again.

I think Russians need to pack on and leave somewhere towards South America, so that they are not blamed for Georgia’s internal affairs.

What does Russia have to do with:

Beating up the crowd?

Zurab Zhvania’s death?

Irakli Okruashvili’s allegations?

–Prolonging the Parliament’s mandate?

–[A wanted in Russia] Badri Patarkatsishvili? Why is he a traitor?

Sandro Girgvliani’s murder?

–The imprisoned political leader Irakli Batiashvili?

Poor human rights record?

–Centralized justice system where out of 18,000 cases only 54 were proven not guilty?

–Corrupt ministers? Take Okruashvili, for instance, who was proven corrupt once he attempted to enter politics.

–With the “”"dialogue”"” where Saakashvili’s government does not want to compromise on any of the demonstrators’ demands?Tbilisi

How can all this be blamed on Russia? Are those 70,000 people that showed up in the first day of the protests ALL Russian puppets? Or they are confused by the evil Imedi TV channel and thus should watch a pro-government Rustavi TV? Or just blindly follow the leader?

If I am wrong, than the Russians must be omni-present and omni-potent dark forces inside peoples’ minds. To end, here is what the Public Defender (probably also brainwashed) said

Today’s incident confirmed that we are Belarus lead by Likashenko and not a democratic state,” Sozar Subari stated.

Long live our savior and protector against the Russian dark magic!

Okruashvili’s Thorny Attack

October 14th, 2007 by jibs

Georgia’s former defense minister shocked the society with his accusations against his former comrades-in-revolution. During the conference of the establishment of his party For United Georgia and later in the interviews given to the major news outlets, Okruashvili talked about a wide range of crimes committed by the acting Georgian administration, and especially by President Saakashvili himself.

First of all, Okruashvili held a number of key positions in the government before he resigned. He is a former Prosecutor General, Interior, Defense and Economic Development Minister - undoubtedly one of Saakashvili’s closest confidants.

Thus, his allegations against the former allies possibly hold truth in them. Who else to believe, if not a person who has been a part of this administration for a very long time?

In fact, most of Okruashvili’s accusations have been circulating in the Georgian society for a long time. Although the opposition parties constantly tried to capitalize on some of the themes elaborated by Okruashvili, they had little success convincing the society of secret crimes committed by the revolution heroes. Now, the situation has drastically changed: a prominent insider openly charging Saakashvili of crimes that were long rumored about is much closer to reality than the “fantasies” of opposition leaders.

So what are his accusations?
